Creative movement workshops developed from Cynthia’s recent performance projects, are open to performers and non performers. Through simple and playful exercises, participants research the body and imagination. The session includes improvisation, learned movement and writing. Offering inclusivity and a drive to listen to the body, the workshops provide an opportunity to drop into the inner world, to share movement on one’s own and with others.

The VEIL: Two Sisters workshops, initially developed in India, were presented in 2023 by Tibet House US. They will be presenting a series of four sessions later 2024. In 2019, four workshop participants had joined a University Settlement performance’s ending ritual.

Workshops have been led at Tibet House US; Institute of Contemporary Art, PA; George Washington University, DC; University Settlement, NY; SOHO20 gallery, NYC; Palenville Interarts, NY; University of Minnesota, MN/University of the Arts, PA: assistant to Kei Takei; Voices Burning: Women Works, inter-arts workshop, DC; Smithsonian and Glen Echo Park Arts with Elders.

‘we were like a group of children, playful and focused’
—Erina T, Auroville India

‘I really enjoyed the whole process. There is something very special in your piece that resonated within me and at times brought me to almost tears ... I was still thinking about many of the elements of ‘VEIL’ that brought me to a different level of experiencing my own reality. Thank You. It’s a magical piece and I am so grateful to have been part of it.’
— Hector Canonge, artist.
